Level of slow potentials (LSP) recorded from the head surface characterizes the level of relatively stable functioning of the brain formations and is a quantitative parameter of the current functional state determining the subject’s physiological activity.
LSP was registered by means of a hardware-software complex "Neuro–KM". 76 students (37 males and 39 females) at the age of 17-18 years have been involved in research of changes of brain slow potential at local cooling in water environment. Cooling test was made within 1 minute at water temperature +60С.
The analysis of the received results has shown sexual distinctions in speed of adaptable processes. Girls have longer period of restoration to reference values of LSP till 3-5 minutes in comparison with young men. It is noticed, that energy exchange of brain at students-northerners more intensive in comparison with students from other regions of Russia, what’s revealed in raised values of LSP in monopolar assignments both before and during cooling, and in the regenerative period. There is a tendency, that students from Northen region have higher indicators of LSP in subcrustal structures and decrease indicators of LSP in frontal area of a brain.
